These local elections are an exceptional success for the BSP, said the leader of the left, Cornelia Ninova.

“We are increasing our party vote by about 50,000 votes, this is an extraordinary success for us. We are looking forward to Sofia. We thank everyone who supported us. We have 71 mayors compared to 57 in the previous local elections and we are the second political force. We win 4 regional cities – Shumen, Razgrad, Ruse and Silistra”

What will happen to the neo-coalition is their business – we will introduce a vote of no confidence in the first days of the new parliament session, she said.

“Vazrazhdane” give their signatures, you know they had some hesitation shortly before their elections, they give their signatures so in the first days we submit a vote of no confidence. Let the partners in the assembly decide how to behave and whether to approve this vote or not”.

The big loser in these elections is GERB, Ninova believes.

“Our goal from the beginning of the campaign – ‘United against GERD’ is starting to happen and this model is starting to break down, but this is only the beginning.”

The BSP is consolidated and the results show it, she said.

“They worked in a very difficult environment, pressure, buying votes, tampering with ballots, writing to the current address. Our people experienced all this and showed that they have character, that we have professionals and strong candidates”.

Ninova also said that she is not worried about Vanya Grigorova’s political ambitions and congratulated her on a well-run campaign.
