Slavia with Zagorcic completely outplayed Eter, but got away with a penalty – BG Football – efbet Liga

Slavia achieved their fourth win of the season after beating the minimum 1:0 rookie Eter Veliko Tarnovo at the Alexander Shalamanov stadium in a match from the 16th round of the efbet League. He scored the only and winning goal Tony Tasev in the 18th minute, when he scored from a penalty.

Zlatomir Zagorcic, for whom this is his third stay at Ovcha Kupel, returned to the touchline after serving a suspension from last season and watched the matches with Krumovgrad and Ludogorets from the stands. He placed Svetoslav Vutsov in goal, and in front of him in defense were Ertan Tombak, Martin Georgiev, Viktor Genev and Ventsislav Kerchev. Erol Dost and Kristiyan Stoyanov acted as support. Emil Stoev and captain Galin Ivanov operated on the wings, and Tony Tasev operated behind Vladimir Nikolov, who led the attack.

The coach of Eter – Svetoslav Petrov, chose Martin Velichkov in goal, and in defense in front of him were Valery Hristov, Luis Cordova, the captain Marijan Ivanov and Martin Nikolov. Martin Moran and Georgi Alexandrov operated in the middle of the pitch. The attacking trio of Lovre Knežević, Nikolay Yankov and Krum Stoyanov operated behind center forward Ivaylo Dimitrov.

The match started at a leisurely pace, with the first shot at either goal coming in the eighth minute, when Toni Tasev attempted a direct free kick shot from a long distance, but it went high over the goal.

In the 14th minute, a forced substitution had to be made in the Eter team after Martin Moran got injured and was replaced by Osama Alou.

However, Slavia took the lead in the 18th minute when Toni Tasev scored from the penalty spot. Three minutes before that, Georgi Alexandrov detained Viktor Genev in the penalty areaon the field and after review with the VAR system, Stanimir Trenchev indicated the white point. Tony Tasev stood behind the ball, who converted in the lower right corner and gave the Whites the lead, although the goalkeeper Martin Velichkov caught the direction of the shot.

“The Whites” had an excellent chance for a second goal in the 24th minute. The goalkeeper Martin Velichkov made a mistake when carrying the ball and gave it to Emil Stoev, who immediately found the captain Galin Ivanov on the edge of the penalty area, who made a strong shot, but it bounced off the crossbar.

Eter had a look at the home side’s goal four minutes later when Krum Stoyanov shot rather ambitiously from distance, but also quite inaccurately. In the 31st minute, Erol Dost also tried his sights from a long distance, but the ball passed at a safe distance from the right post of Velichkov.

Four minutes before the end of the regular time of the first part, the “violets” missed a huge opportunity to equalize the result. Lovre Knežević received a wonderful lead-in from the right into the box, then cut the ball back to the penalty spot, where Osama Alu outpaced Ertan Tombak and cut low with his right foot, but the ball went inches wide of Svetoslav Vutsov’s right-hand post.

In the 43rd minute, Ertan Tombak received a pass from the right in Eter’s half, progressed well, then got inside and attempted a technical shot towards the far corner, but wide of the goal.

Svetoslav Petrov made another substitution for Etar at the break – Vladislav Naydenov replaced Nikolay Yankov, who was in pain at the end of the first half.

The first dangerous situation for the second part came in the 54th minute, when Kristiyan Stoyanov found Tombak on the right flank near the penalty area, who decided to finish rather unconventionally and shot strongly on the volley, but Velichkov was able to deflect.

Slavia continued to dominate the field and three minutes later Galin Ivanov received in Eter’s half and went towards the penalty area, then he stopped, held the ball and decided to shoot at the goal, resulting in a treacherous shot, but again the guard of ” the boyars” managed to reflect.

The siege on Eter’s goal continued and in the 61st minute, Slavia played well from the left, and Ivan Minchev, who came from the bench, received the ball in front of the penalty area and shot at the goal, but Velichkov saved again. A minute later, Tasev shot directly from a direct free kick from a considerable distance in front of the penalty area, but just over the goal.

“The Whites” missed another great opportunity for a second goal in the 68th minute. After a touch from the left side of the attack of the “Whites”, near the penalty area, the ball reached Emil Stoev, who missed the captain Martin Ivanov and shot from a clear position , but again Velichkov kept his goal from the second goal.

Three minutes later, Slavia organized a quick counterattack, where Galin Ivanov brought Tasev at speed into the penalty area, who tried a pass past the goalkeeper to the second post for Stoev, but right in front of him, Mariyan Ivanov managed to clear in a corner. After the performance, there was a short mix-up in the penalty area, with the ball reaching Galin Ivanov, who, however, shot over the goal from a clear position.

In the 73rd minute, the bored Svetoslav Vutsov could get himself into serious trouble. The ball was played back to the keeper, who was not bothered by anyone, but acted distracted and let the ball pass under his foot, but still managed to get to him and clear for a corner. Four minutes later, Martin Velichkov found himself in a similar situation, who had come forward, but caught up with the ball.
