Alex Marquez won yesterday’s sprint at Sepnag in brilliant fashion, but there was no answer to the pace of Enea Bastianini in the main race of the MotoGP Malaysian Grand Prix today.
The Spanish Grezini Ducati rider moved into second place at the very first corner of the race, then spent several laps closely behind Bastianini. Gradually, however, the Ducati factory rider began to pull away and won by more than a second.

After the final, Marquez, who with his win yesterday and second place today is the driver with the most points during the Sepang weekend, said that he gave his all today, but simply the Beast and was faster than him. He also reported that the competition was very tough from a physical point of view.
“I’ve tried, I’ve tried everything I’ve got and I’m physically at my limit right now. I can’t say much, but I’m grateful to the team for the whole weekend. They gave me the perfect bike, they deserved the win, but today Enea was better than us and we have to accept that and improve for the future. Now we are performing at a very good level and we have to keep it up until Valencia”, commented the younger of the Marquez brothers after the final of the race.
