Serbia international Filip Mladenovic gave an interview less than two days before the country’s crucial Euro 2024 qualifier against Bulgaria, which could seal our western neighbors’ place at the forum in Germany next summer.

The “Blues” will meet us at the stadium in Leskovac this Sunday (November 19) at 16:00, and you will be able to follow the match LIVE on BNT 1, BNT 3 and on bntsport.bg!

Mladenovic said that he does not expect Serbia to have an easy task against the selection of Ilian Iliev, but nevertheless the team is aware of what they have to do and everything depends on the performance on the field.

“Everything depends on us, as we expected at the end of these qualifiers. We hold fate in our hands. We know what we have to do and we certainly hope for a happy ending. We talk constantly. There are no easy matches and easy opponents, everyone wants to play and to win. But I say again, it’s all up to us, we know what we need, we train well, we prepare hard and we look forward to the match to achieve what our football has been waiting for for a quarter of a century. I think this generation deserves to qualified for the European championship,” said the defender of Panathinaikos.

The 32-year-old football player also commented on the tendency of the Bulgarian team to concede goals in the last minutes of their matches, expressing hope that the Serbs will decide everything long before that.

“It’s all just amazing. Now they’ve scored an own goal. I don’t know what to say, hopefully we’ll have the same luck on Sunday but I’m sure it won’t come to that and we’ll settle things much sooner because we’re confident in our strength and in our coaching staff. We believe we will achieve the result we need, which all people in Serbia who love football and support the national team have been waiting for so many years,” said the participant with Serbia at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

“It’s good that there will be fans in the stadium, it will give us additional motivation to achieve the result we need and allow us to share our joy with our supporters,” concluded Filip Mladenovic.

His teammate in the national team, Nemanja Gudel, who also turned 32 on Thursday, wished for his birthday success against Bulgaria and qualification for Euro 2024.

“That was my birthday wish – to win on Sunday and fulfill the dream of many generations and go where we belong. We didn’t pay much attention to the results of the other games, it’s important to decide our own destiny and we are all aware of that. We are focused on giving our best against Bulgaria and qualifying for the European Championship,” said Goodell

“There have been no easy opponents in football for a long time, you have to give 100 percent in every match, and we know that the Bulgarians changed the coach and brought back older, more experienced players to the team. We will be concentrated and I hope for a successful finish”. the Sevilla player also said.
