The chairman of the DPS parliamentary group, Delyan Peevski, will participate in the race for the election of the chairman of the movement. He confirmed this himself after a meeting of the Central Council of the party.
DPS will elect its new chairman at a conference on February 24.
“When the delegates meet, they will elect a chairman. It will be an absolutely transparent and democratic election of the chairman of the DPS. Any member of the DPS who is nominated by the structures can run,” said Peevski.
He explained the absence from the meeting of the temporary chairman of the movement, Ahmed Dogan, by the fact that he was sick with the flu.
Peevski confirmed that on Wednesday the deputies of the DPS will register at the session of the National Assembly.

After the elections, the previous president, Mustafa Karadayi, resigned from the post of president. With a post on Facebook, Karadayi wrote that he resigned to make it clear that he is not a candidate for the presidency for the next term.
The Central Operations Bureau decided immediately after Qaradayi’s resignation that Honorary Chairman Ahmed Dogan would once again take over the party’s operational leadership until a new chairman is elected in February.
