The Central Council of the DPS is meeting today at 1:00 p.m., the party’s press center announced. The meeting will take place in the capital’s “Ramada” hotel. It is expected that this will be the first meeting under the leadership of the chairman of the party Ahmed Dogan, who after the resignation of the chairman Mustafa Karadayi, took over the operational leadership of the party.
Honorary Chairman Ahmed Dogan retired from politics after an assassination attempt on him with a gas gun during the Movement’s Eighth National Conference in 2013.
The DPS press center announced the resignation of Mustafa Karadai on November 7.
Delyan Peevski, who until that moment was co-chairman of the parliamentary group, commented to the media that this was Karadai’s decision, and his mandate expired in December. The very next day, Delyan Peevski was elected chairman of the parliamentary group.
Currently, Karadayi is a member of parliament. Yesterday, parliament voted to remove him as a member of the Committee on Internal Security and Public Order. Ahmed Akhmedov also resigned from the post of Deputy Chairman of the Central Council of the DPS. He also remains a member of parliament at this time.
