Supposedly a rehearsal, but it turns almost into a premiere performance – this is how Hristo Mutafchiev’s one-man play “My God” was shown at the Night of Theaters on November 18.

The surprise for the spectators who enter the Chamber Hall of the National Theater is at the very beginning, when it turns out that they are located among the set itself. They find themselves in a bar that belongs to Judas, and Christ (Hristo Mutafchiev) is sitting at a table. Among the customers, however, is the director Stoyan Radev, who does not just watch, but works. Several times it brings the actor back to repeat a particular scene almost as if in a rehearsal.

However, the reaction of the viewers turned out to be unexpectedly good. “It is possible to continue in this way at the real performances as well”, said Hristo Mutafchiev. The one-man show is based on the text of the young author Thea Denolyubova.

During the “Night of the Theaters” initiative, dozens of visitors had the opportunity to go up to the Great Stage in the National Theater, to enter the mechanization that drives it, to see the wardrobe, the lobbies, as well as the artists’ dressing rooms. Their guides were actors Bilyana Petrinska and Darin Angelov.
