European champions Italy qualified for Euro 2024 after a goalless draw away to Ukraine in Group C of the qualifiers for a place in Germany. The Azzurri thus finish second in the group with 14 points, the same as Ukraine, but thanks to the win on Italian soil, Luciano Spalletti’s men qualified for Euro 2024.
The first serious situation of the game came in the 7th minute when Federico Chiesa wasted a good opportunity, shooting over the goal from a clear position.
After half an hour of play, the goalkeeper of Ukraine made a great save on a shot by Davide Fratesi.
Ukraine could have surprised the European champions after the break when Mihailo Mudryk latched on to a cross in the box and shot, but Gianluigi Donnarumma saved.
Towards the end of the match, Ukraine tried to be more active, but Italy’s defense did not crack and qualified the country for the European Championship in Germany – the country where the Italians last became world champions.
