Today, tests of the national early notification system BG-ALERT will be conducted in four regions of the country. This is clear from a message on the website of the emergency warning system.
In Burgas, Sliven, Stara Zagora and Yambol, a message will be broadcast for half an hour from 12:00 to 12:30, containing a sound signal and text in Bulgarian and English.
The receipt of the message on the mobile device is expected to be one-time and accompanied by a specific sound and vibration, even with silent mode enabled
The early warning system has already been tested in the regions of Veliko Tarnovo, Razgrad, Ruse, Silistra, Varna, Dobrich, Targovishte and Shumen.
In the last test, there were complaints from a man whose phone received the BG-ALERT message over 1,000 times, causing his phone to lock up.
On November 1 this year, by chance and without warning, the system sent a notification on behalf of the President of the Republic with the text “test test” and a specific noise to all Vivacom subscribers.
Then it became clear that the company developing the system made a human error.
