Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Ukrainian intelligence service prevented five or six people who attempted to assassinate him due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the British Sun reported.

“First of all, people don’t know what to do with it and it looks very threatening. And then, after that, it’s just intelligence reports in which they gave you details that another group came to Ukraine to try the same thing,” added Zelensky.

On the first day of the Russian invasion, Russian special forces parachuted into Kiev, allegedly with the intention of killing the Ukrainian president. The Western authorities then offered to take Zelensky out of the capital, which he refused, saying that he needed ammunition, not transportation.

Zelensky added that Russia has a new plan to oust him from power and that Moscow expects it to be implemented by the end of the year. The President of Ukraine said that he is familiar with the alleged name of the operation – Maidan 3, and that Moscow is not planning an assassination this time, but has potentially used another method.

“I can’t talk to you about the special operation of the Ukrainian intelligence service or the secret service or some special forces. There are some moments we can’t discuss. Not only Russia, there are things we can’t talk about related to our temporarily occupied territory,” Zelensky said. when asked if and how Kijev responded to the attempted assassination.
