Stara Zagorje artist Raicho Chakarov presents a solo exhibition today

On the eve of the 75th anniversary of the birth of the Stara Zagorje artist Raicho Chakarov, his solo exhibition will be opened today in the “Lubor Bayer” exhibition hall. This is clear from the program of upcoming events published on the official page of the local administration.

“The paintings in the exhibition originate from an iconic multi-series of pen drawings in a small format. Created in the company of morning coffee, because “for the artist, drawing is a living habit, just like breathing, while drinking coffee you look for a leaf to throw something on,” the organizers point out.

Raicho Chakarov was born on May 2, 1949. He has been interested in drawing since he was young. He began his education as a student at the First Boys’ High School in the city. Then he studied at the Art High School in the capital, and later at Veliko Tarnovo University “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” in the class of Prof. Nikola Gelov on “Decorative-monumental painting”. His schedule teachers are Prof. Ivan Marinov and Assistant Professor Motko Bumov.

Throughout his creative career, Chakarov simultaneously combined the role of a curator at the Art Gallery in Stara Zagora and a teacher at the “Raina Knyaginya” Vocational High School for Clothing and Nutrition.

The exhibition can be viewed until May 7.
