I understand the analysts who react painfully to what Kiril Petkov said that analysts asked him for 20,000 BGN to serve him in the media.
Two people identified themselves, for whom we now have a reasoned assumption that they are not racketeers of the politicians, from whom they expect to pay them for their services.
Kiril Petkov’s accusation is not proof, but it is a good start for a “conversation” on the subject.
This is a classic case of “word against word” before specifics.
To this day, more than 10 years later, I am not ready to disclose by name how I was offered a bribe by the nuclear lobby not to lobby against the Belene NPP as a journalist. I ended the conversation to which I was invited in a restaurant in Sofia, when I realized what and who I was dealing with.
“Let’s meet our interests”, was the unforgettable offer for me over a cup of coffee after exchanging pleasantries with the unknown person, after he made it clear to me that he was speaking on behalf of the nuclear lobby.
I was led astray by the father of this person whom I know. She called me on the phone that she wanted to meet me. For unnamed reasons that I didn’t think about beforehand.
How much would I choke as a journalist thrown out of the system (because of a clash with their Parvanov and his status quo) by the nuclear millionaires if I had swallowed the corruption coffee? Dismissed but unbearably vocal about them I was nonetheless. They tried to stuff some wads down my throat.
I also understand Kiril Petkov.
How can he prove his claim with names without burying himself in the thick of accusations and prosecutions? Would he win this battle in the enemy territory of the unreformed criminal justice territory in our European country?
I respect the right of analysts who have felt affected by the truth about their colleagues, which they do not want to tarnish.
But I also welcome the stone that Kiril Petkov threw into the swamp.
If Petkov was like his enemies, who have made him the main target of the rashist pack in our country, he would have photos, videos and other incriminating material for the racketeers.
It is obviously different from them. It doesn’t give them a chance to rip him off by their pack’s rules.
