The defendant Metin Mehmedov has been charged that on 02/08/2023, while driving a motor vehicle – an Opel Astra car in the direction from the village of Ustina to the town of Krichim, he violated the traffic rules and intentionally caused the death of Dimitar Pepalanov, which occurred on 02.02.2024.
He is also on trial for having caused the serious road accident under the influence of a narcotic substance – amphetamine.
Mehmedov committed the act again after he had already been convicted with an effective sentence for another similar crime.
At first, the driver tried to shift the blame to his girlfriend, saying that she was driving the vehicle.
We remind you that Mehmedov is in custody, despite repeated attempts by his defense to change his pretrial detention.
