M anchester United pulled off one of the most impressive FA Cup comebacks to beat Second Division Coventry City 4-2 on penalties in the second semi-final of the competition.

The match ended in a 3:3 draw after extra time at Wembley.

United were on their way to a record 22nd FA Cup final after Scott McTominay gave the Red Devils a 23rd-minute lead and Harry Maguire extended their lead in first-half stoppage time.

Bruno Fernandes made it 3-0 in the 58th minute, but then everything turned upside down for the absolute favorites in the match.

Ellis Sims reduced the deficit in the 71st minute with a close-range strike and eight later fed Callum O’Hare, whose shot ricocheted off a United defender and into the net for the token visitors.

Coventry were also awarded a penalty which Hadji Wright converted in the fifth minute of stoppage time to send the game into extra time.

Until the final success, United escaped twice from elimination. First, Hadji Wright scored in the 121st minute of extra time, but the goal was disallowed due to an offside.

Casemiro then missed the first penalty and Coventry took the lead after two shots were converted.

However, Diogo Dalot, Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes and Rasmus Heylund made up for the Brazilian midfielder’s mistake, while O’Hare and Ben Sheaf missed out for Coventry.

Thus, United qualified for the final and for the second year in a row will argue for the trophy with its holder Manchester City.
