Grigor Dimitrov starts against Hanfman or Menshik in Madrid (draw) – TennisKafe

--

Grigor Dimitrov will face either Yannick Hanfman or Jakub Mensik in his first match at the Madrid Masters. This determined the draw for the main circuit of the competition, which will take place from April 24 to May 5. Dimitrov is #9 in the scheme and starts directly from the second round.

So far, Dimitrov has not played Menshik, while he has faced Hanfman once. This happened at this year’s tournament in Miami, where our first racket crushed the German 6-0, 6-1.

If he reaches the third round, Dimitrov will face someone from Yoshihito Nishioka, Félix Auger-Aliassime and Adrian Mannarino. The most likely opponent for the potential round of 16 is Casper Ruud, who won the title in Barcelona yesterday.

The leader of the scheme Yannick Siner begins his participation in the Spanish capital with a match against Lorenzo Sonego or a qualifier. If he wins, the potential opponents of the world No. 2 in the third round will be Jordan Thompson, Pavel Kotov or another player from the screenings.

The second placed Carlos Alcaraz starts against Aleksandar Shevchenko or Artur Rinderknesch, then could face Thiago Zaiboch Wild, Roman Safiulin or Lorenzo Musetti.

The third in the scheme Daniil Medvedev awaits Christopher O’Connell or Matteo Arnaldi in the second round, and if he wins, his next opponent will be Max Purcell, Marcos Giron or Sebastian Korda.

The one placed under #4 Alexander Zverev will face Borna Coric or a qualifier in his first bout. If successful, the next challenge to the Olympic champion will be Tomas Martin Echeverri, Facundo Diaz Acosta or Denis Shapovalov.

Rafael Nadal will return to Madrid with a match against world #1028 Darwin Blanch. In reaching the second round, Matadora will once again face Alex De Minor, who he lost to in Barcelona.
