United States President Joe Biden will announce today $7 billion in grant funding for the Environmental Protection Agency’s Solar for All program, the White House announced Monday.
The program aims to provide residential solar power to more than 900,000 households in every US state and territory, focusing on low-income and disadvantaged communities. This would represent a savings of more than $350 million in electricity costs annually, or about $400 per household.
The White House added that “in total, the solar energy projects funded by this program will create nearly 200,000 jobs” and also reduce more than 30 million metric tons of carbon pollution over the next 25 years.
