Once again, Galya from the American embassy has become a catalyst for political processes in our country, Lupa.bg has learned. This time, the influential mystical lady from “Koziak” has taken on the role of architect of the official cabinet, because in practice she is the one who removed the candidate for foreign minister Stefan Dimitrov.

Officially, the diplomat was dropped as an option, because his phone was switched off for two days and he did not respond to his immediate superior – Acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev, as he himself claimed. And at the exact moment when Iran attacked Israel and the foreign policy situation was extremely tense. In addition, he was accused of having “mutilated and modified Bulgaria’s position regarding the war with Ukraine”.

However, the actual chronology of events is slightly different.

Just as Stefan Dimitrov went to Montenegro – where he was ambassador to pack – he received an unexpected phone call. According to Lupa.bg, it was the notorious Galya who called him to give instructions on what Bulgaria’s position should be on the key topics Ukraine and Iran-Israel.

However, the old diplomat Stefan Dimitrov did not take kindly to this call.

Whether he didn’t understand where exactly he was being called from, whether he didn’t want to comply – it’s not entirely clear, but in response he gave his interlocutor a shout in both Bulgarian and English.

The incident is now being told as a joke, local diplomats revealed. This reaction of his predetermined the further development of events. Because of his unfriendly attitude towards the most important embassy in our country, Boyko Borisov himself was invited for a conversation. It was for this reason that the leader of GERB was so angry with the candidate for foreign minister and threatened that if Glavchev did not replace him, the acting prime minister would regret it in the future.
