Bulgaria’s top tennis player Grigor Dimitrov has learned his draw for the Masters clay tournament in the Spanish capital, Madrid, which starts on Tuesday (April 23rd).

Dimitrov is ranked number 9 in the main draw and by right misses the opening round, and in the second round he will face a match against the German Janik Hanfman or the Czech Jakub Menšík.

If he manages one of the two, Grigor will qualify for the 1/16 finals, where a duel against 19th-seeded Adrian Mannarino, Canadian Felix Ogier-Aliassime or Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka is possible.

The draw put the Bulgarian in a quarter with No. 5 Casper Ruud from Norway, who arrives in the Spanish capital as the champion of the ATP 500 clay race in Barcelona. We remind you that a week earlier, the two-time Roland Garros finalist also reached the final of the Masters in Monte Carlo.

Grigor Dimitrov will participate for the 12th time in total at the ATP 1000 race in Madrid, where his best achievement is the quarter-final in 2015. At the same tournament, one of the biggest victories in the career of the Bulgarian came, when in 2013 he beat the world No. 1 Novak Djokovic in a match of the third round.
