Prof. Oleg Yordanov: Trump is trying to block any successful Biden policy

Prof. Oleg Yordanov, who lives and teaches in the USA, clarified in an interview with BNR that this was one of the four measures that were voted on.

The total amount was 95 billion, separately 9 billion for humanitarian aid for both Gaza and Ukraine, he added.

The important thing is how the most problematic measure was voted for – that of money for Ukraine, pointed out Prof. Yordanov.

“Despite opposition from a large majority of Republicans, the vote was 311 to 112. All 210 Democrats voted in favor, 101 Republicans also voted in favor to 112 against the measure.” he noted.

Prof. Yordanov reminded that at the beginning of the war, not only Europe, but also the USA was firmly on the side of Ukraine. To this day, over 69% of Americans think Putin should be stopped. However, there is an active majority, led by Donald Trump, that opposes this aid and US involvement in general, he pointed out.

According to him, Trump has not reconsidered his attitude to aid to Ukraine, but there has been strong pressure on him for his position.

Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, finally gathered the courage, despite resistance, to propose this for a vote in Congress, Prof. Oleg Yordanov continued his commentary. According to him, the reactions of the most radical part of the Republican Party are very sharp. According to him, they can easily replace it.
There are indications now that the Democratic Party is ready to help Johnson retain his position. However, if he remains with the help of the Democrats, it would probably mean the end of his political career in the Republican Party.
