Kaloyan Stoimenov won first place at the ADCC Sofia Open 2024 international submission grappling competition. The competitor of the Dimitrovgrad “Kombat Sport” won the gold in the youth category up to 65 kg. In the third place in the category up to 60 kg, another athlete of the club, Daniel Momchilov, placed.
In the final, Stoimenov faced a competitor from Romania. After a well-played strategy, the Kombat Sport competitor won the final match with 3:0 points and took first place.
Momchilov also played excellently in the match for the bronze medal and won with 5:0 points
More than 300 fighters from various clubs in the country and abroad participated in the competition.
The ADCC is an international submission grappling competition organized by the Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC). The first tournament was held in Abu Dhabi, UAE in 1998. The tournament’s host countries were Brazil, China, Finland, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Club “Combat Sport” was founded in 2001 by Pavel Dimitrov. Initially, the club developed the sport of kickboxing sanda, but in 2014 the training was directed to mixed martial arts MMA, grappling and Brazilian jiu jitsu.
