New Russian system against drones: They named it the laziest working day

--

A new security system against drone attacks is boasted in Russia. Information about the innovation was published by the Russian news agency RIA Novosti, which is entirely subordinate to the Kremlin.

Friday: Craftsman’s Day

The system in question is known by the name “Friday” – because it was completed on a Friday. It will be presented at the “Army 2024” forum.

Its creator, Stanislav, gave details to RIA about what it is, not mentioning his last name “for security reasons”.

These are automated air defense (air defense) platforms. “Most likely in the army we will introduce automatic platforms for machine guns, as well as our digital system “Friday”. This is a software solution that brings everything together in one center, so you can control different devices (weapons) from one place, when it comes to large objects,” says the developer.

The software system also calculates which of the available weapons protecting a given object is best used for protection in a specific situation, suggesting action patterns.

The “Army 2024” forum will be held from August 12 to 18, in the Moscow region.

Russian innovations

Time will tell how good the system will be – for some time, however, the Russian army has adopted a new tactic for ground operations in Ukraine. Instead of armored vehicles, the Russians try to carry out attacks with light vehicles – jeeps and buggies. The idea – to move faster to allow less time for the Ukrainian side to react and carry out pre-emptive drone strikes on advancing Russian infantry.
