The trial of Donald Trump in New York continues today. The former president will hear pleas in the courtroom from prosecutors who accuse him of falsifying documents to conceal a payment during his 2016 campaign for the White House.
Then Trump’s former lawyer – Michael Cohen – gave porn star Stormy Daniels $130,000 not to reveal that the two had an extramarital affair. However, prior to the indictment, the transaction was disguised as legal fees, in violation of the law.
This is the first of a total of four criminal cases awaiting Donald Trump, but also the only one that will take place before the presidential vote in November. In the first week after the start of the trial, the jurors who will decide whether Trump is guilty or not were selected.
Trump has pleaded not guilty to all 34 counts and denies having an affair with Stormy Daniels.
