Former US President Donald Trump, who is running again for the highest office in the country, spent $4.9 million on legal fees in March and now he may not have enough money to pay lawyers. Bloomberg wrote about it on Sunday, citing Trump’s campaign finance reports.

It is noted that $6.8 million remains in the accounts that the former American leader used to pay lawyers. That could force Trump to look for new sources of funding. For now, he’s paying his legal fees thanks to the political action committee Save America, which can accept donations from donors. Since January 2023, Save America has spent more than $62 million in legal fees.

The Republican National Committee has already refused to pay Trump’s legal costs, the publication adds. The former head of the United States may try to raise more money from his donors or use his own fortune, adds Bloomberg.

Trump has been implicated in several cases, including storming the Capitol, possessing classified documents and falsifying financial documents.

In January of this year, a court in New York returned a verdict according to which Trump must pay 83.3 million dollars to the writer Elizabeth Jean Carroll, who accused the former American leader of harassment and defamation. In February, a court found Trump guilty of fraudulently valuing the Trump Organization’s assets and ordered him to pay about $454 million, including interest.
