In the days that followed, the owner of the Blues, Nasko Sirakov, was adamant that only the home crowd should be present at the derby. CSKA-Sofia, on the other hand, called such a decision an escape from responsibility and insisted on severe personal punishments for the hooligans.

On April 12, the two clubs together with the president of the BFS Georgi Ivanov held a meeting with the interior minister Kalin Stoyanov on the hot issue.
