Six games, six wins and six medals. This is the goal that the boxers from our national team will pursue today at the European Championship in Belgrade. Led by coaches Borislav Georgiev and Roman Tsvetkov, they will take to the ring in the Serbian capital in meetings of the quarter-final phase.
The start will be made by Sevda Asenova (48 kg). The two-time European champion and world bronze medalist will open the program in ring A. At 16:00 she will box with Anakhanim Ismailova (Azerbaijan). Around 16:30, Zlatislava Chukanova (50 kg) will go to ring B. She will attack the semi-final against Natalia Kuczewska (Poland).
In the seventh match in ring A, around 17:30, Venelina Poptoleva (52 kg) will meet Zeynab Rahimova (Azerbaijan). After this match, in ring B, world and 4-time European gold medalist Stanimira Petrova (54 kg) will compete with Niamh Fay (Ireland). With the end of this match, we return to ring A, where the third in the world and European vice-champion Svetlana Kamenova (57 kg) will play with Mahsati Khamzayeva (Azerbaijan).
Asluhan Mehmedova (63 kg) will close the Bulgarian participation. She will compete in ring A in the evening session, which starts at 18:45. The match of our national player with Alina Kretsu (Romania) is fourth on the list and is expected to start around 19:30.
