The campaign to collect hazardous household waste in Blagoevgrad continues today

The Municipality of Blagoevgrad and “BalBok Engineering” JSC are organizing a campaign to collect hazardous waste from households, “Focus” reported. It will take place today and tomorrow, and waste will be accepted at a mobile collection point for free delivery.

Today, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., you will be able to find the mobile point on “St. Dimitar Solunski” No. 26, in the area of ​​the parking lot in front of the hypermarket and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. “Strumsko”, Osvobozhdenie St., in the area of ​​the parking lot in front of the supermarket.

Residents can deliver the following types of waste free of charge:
– contaminated packaging – packaging containing residues of hazardous substances or contaminated with hazardous substances;
– expired drugs – cytotoxic and cytostatic medicinal products;
-mercury and mercury-containing devices – mercury thermometers, fluorescent tubes and other mercury-containing waste;
– household preparations and chemicals containing dangerous substances – cleaning preparations, disinfectants, bleach, preparations for plant protection and pest control, acids, bases, reagents, photographic chemicals and mixtures;
-varnishes and painting materials – varnishes, paints, polishes, paint solvents and thinners, turpentine, glues, inks, glues/adhesives and resins containing hazardous substances. Disposing of hazardous household waste in the general mixed waste stream creates a risk to human health, pollutes the environment and disrupts the normal operation of landfills.
