I have seen Stefan Dimitrov in the buildings of the Ministry of the Interior and the General Directorate of the National Police. This was said by the former Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Petar Todorov, during a hearing in the temporary commission for investigation into corrupt practices in the “Customs” Agency and the possible role of Asen Vasilev in them.
Todorov explained that since the end of 2021, he has repeatedly seen the person accused of smuggling, Stefan Dimitrov, in the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In some cases, he entered through the transport entrance, and Todorov spotted him in front of the office of then-minister Boyko Rashkov while he was waiting to enter his office. Todorov also claims that Marin Dimitrov, Stefan’s father, also went to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. “I don’t know on what occasion they entered, I am not familiar with these persons, I do not know them,” Petar Todorov pointed out.
He also says that he also saw Dimitrovi at the GDNP, under the director at the time, Vencislav Kirchev. Todorov explained that he had not received any reports regarding Stefan and Marin Dimitrovi. He found out in the spring of 2022 that DANS was interested in both of them.
The former chief secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs also announced that he knew from colleagues that Stefan Dimitrov often went to the traffic police chief Tencho Tenev, and that he was at a banquet of the “Road Police” in the Haskovo region.
