The US Senate approved a $95 billion aid package for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan.

79 senators voted “for” and 18 “against”. The House of Representatives – the lower house of the US Congress – already on Saturday approved the sending of the aid.

After subsequent approval by the Senate, the resolution is sent to President Joe Biden for his signature. He commented that the shipment of new weapons and equipment to Ukraine will begin this week.

The planned aid for the country is in the amount of 61 billion dollars of the entire package.

Such aid was approved by the Senate back in February, but for several months its sending was blocked by representatives of the Republican Party, mainly supporters of Biden’s predecessor – Donald Trump, who did not allow the vote to pass in the House of Representatives.

Representatives of both parties in the US met last week to discuss overcoming these obstacles.

In addition to financial aid, they provided for confiscation of Russian assets in Western banks, new sanctions on Russia, Iran and China, as well as an addition to force the Chinese company ByteDance to sell its popular social network TikTok.
