The SJC initiated disciplinary proceedings against the former judge in the RS – Razlog Rumyana Zaprianova, who administers justice in the Sofia District Court after a competition for transfer. This was decided at today’s meeting of the SC of the Supreme Court after a proposal was made by the chairman of the SRS, Alexander Angelov, in which it was not clear what the alleged violations were. Tsvetinka Pashkunova, Stefan Grozdev and Daniela Marcheva were chosen as members of the disciplinary panel in the proceedings against Zapryanova.

We remind you that Judge Rumyana Zapryanova participated in the competition for transfer to the district courts, which was announced at the end of 2019. Out of 16 places, 4 were for the Sofia District Court. The written exam was held on June 26, 2020, and the final ranking was announced in March 2021. From the results then, it became clear that two judges from RS – Razlog have a real chance of being transferred. With a score of 5.68, Judge Emil Bozhkov was qualified for work in the Sofia District Court, but unfortunately he was unable to fight the severe covid infection and died. Rumyana Zapryanova had won the only vacant place in RS – Svoge with a score of 5.53, but after a second ranking conducted in July 2021 by the SC of the Supreme Court, she was appointed to the Sofia District Court. Before starting the new job, she was assigned to complete the criminal cases started with her participation, which were given the judicial investigation, as well as to prepare the court documents on the cases announced for resolution. v.
