Alexander Georgiev with an excellent performance against Winnipeg in the NHL – More sports – Winter sports

Alexander Georgiev made 27 saves and the Colorado Avalanche won 5-2 against the Winnipeg Jets, the team of the Russian guard with Bulgarian roots evening the USA-Canada National Hockey League (NHL) playoff series before the third game.

Arturi Lehkonen had a goal and an assist for the Avalanche, who trailed 1-2 but scored three goals in the final 5:44 of the second period. Georgiev played an excellent game after allowing seven hits from 23 shots in the first matchup between the two teams.

Miles Wood, Zach Parisi, Josh Manson and Valeri Nichushkin scored the other goals for Team Colorado, while David Gustafsson and Mark Scheifeli scored for Winnipeg.

Carter Verhege scored 2:59 into overtime to give the Florida Panthers a 3-2 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning in Tuesday night’s other game. It was the Panthers’ 11th straight playoff win when games go to overtime.

Sam Bennett and Verhege each had a goal and an assist, and Vladimir Tarasenko had the third goal for the Panthers, who lead the series by two wins. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 21 shots and allowed goals against Braden Point and Steven Stamkos.

Jack Roslovic and K’Andre Miller scored 4:26 into the second period and the New York Rangers beat the Washington Capitals 4-3 in an East playoff game. Vincent Trochek and Maika Zibanejad were on target in the first period for the New Yorkers, who took a two-game lead in the series.

Anthony Beauvillier and Filip Forsberg each had a goal and an assist to lead the Nashville Predators to a 4-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks, tying the series after two games.
