Why did Chelsea crash against Arsenal? Mauricio Pochettino’s explanation

Mauricio Pochettino – the head coach of Chelseawas very disappointed with the way his side went into the Arsenal derby.

The “Blues” lost their visit to the “Gunners” with 0:5, conceding the first goal in the fourth minute.

Pochettino’s comment

“I’m disappointed. Our performance wasn’t good. We didn’t start the game the way we should have. We conceded too basic a goal, made things easy for Arsenal and then it was very difficult.”said the Argentine after the heavy defeat.

“We talked at the break that at this level it’s unacceptable to go into games like that, but then we started the second half badly again and conceded two more goals. After that I think the team gave up…”.

“The hardest thing for me to accept is the way we started because in the last 30 minutes of the first half we were good, the game was even and we forced them to make some mistakes from which we created chances”continued Pochettino.

“You can lose against a team like Arsenal who are fighting for the title, but the problem is how we played three days ago (b.r. – against Manchester City) and how we played today. Three days ago we were fantastic and deserved to qualify for the final. Today you can use any number of words to describe our performance, which was not good…”.

“I can’t blame any football player individually. As a team we show inconsistency. That’s the reason we are where we are”explained the Chelsea coach.
