In Varna, today is the Public Discussion on the expansion of “Tsar Osvoboditel” Blvd.

The plan also includes the implementation of a city railway entirely north of the boulevard.

A public discussion of the Detailed Communication and Transport Plan (DCP) for “Tsar Osvoboditel” Blvd. from “Letishte” road junction to “Vasil Levski” Blvd. will be held from 5:00 p.m. today in the “Plenary” hall of the Municipality of Varna.

In the new project decision, it is envisaged that all crossings of “Tsar Osvoboditel” Blvd. with streets and boulevards of the first-class street network will be realized conflict-free on two levels with identical “Diamond” type road junctions. These are the connections of “Tsar Osvoboditel” Blvd. with the crossing “Konstantin and Fruzhin” Blvd., “Atanas Moskov” Blvd., “Janos Hunyadi” Blvd., “Republika” Blvd., “3rd March” Blvd./ St. Vira, Pop Dimitar St., Hristo Smirnenski Blvd.

The plan also includes the implementation of a city railway entirely north of Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd. There are also places for public transport stops. In order to ensure conflict-free access for pedestrians between the northern and southern parts of the boulevard, the implementation of 6 pedestrian overpasses over the city railway and the boulevard is planned, the press service of the Municipality of Varna explains.

“Tsar Osvoboditel” Boulevard is one of the busiest in the city, including transiting cars. In a part of it, traffic is carried out on only one road lane. That is why its throughput is almost exhausted, the designers point out.
