Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino was extremely disappointed with Arsenal’s 0-5 result, but also with the inconsistency of his players.

The Argentinian specialist has no explanation for their behaviour, just days after they put up fierce resistance against Manchester City in the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

“When we have bad days, we look like this. When we are good, we are capable of anything,” Pochettino told reporters. “We can’t blame the players, I won’t. We can’t blame young lads who came here and after going through some circumstances came out to fight against a team that is preparing to win the Premier League, so I prefer them justify and keep them.

It is clear that we are disappointed with our performance, but I will not say something that is unfair and describe the players, our behavior in an inappropriate way, added the specialist.

To get back on the winning track and have a chance of qualifying for Europe, Chelsea will need to get a positive result away to 4th-placed Aston Villa on Saturday and host 5th-placed Tottenham on May 2.

“I am aware that we have tough games ahead of us and we have really entered a series of derby meetings. But there is no better school for character than this type of meeting. We will talk in the dressing room and I believe we will be fine again after that.” finished Pochettino.
