Residents of the Plovdiv village of Brestovitsa will block the Plovdiv ring road this afternoon as a sign of protest. The reason – unsuitable water. Black water has been flowing in the village for four years because it is contaminated with manganese. People use water carriers and constantly buy mineral water from the shops. And apart from promises so far, the visible results are far from desired.

Earlier today, there were attempts to sabotage the organization with various messages on the social network, but they proved unsuccessful.
A week ago, it became clear that VIK has yet to start work on the construction of the new water pipes.
Between BGN 7 and 8 million are needed for the water supply pipes. However, this is too much money for the possibilities of the municipality, pointed out the mayor of Rodopi municipality Pavel Mihailov.
“With one of the previous governments, the project was divided into two – one part was to be financed by the Water and Sewerage and they were to build the water supply pipe in the low and middle zone. MRRD should provide funds to the municipality of Rodopi for the high zone and the asphalting of the streets”.
The project has a total value of BGN 25 million. A technical project has been prepared, as well as a selected contractor. Work can begin as soon as the supply pipe is made.
