The prosecutor’s collegium opened disciplinary proceedings against the military district prosecutor of Sofia, Adalbert Krastev. It is at the request of acting chief prosecutor Borislav Sarafov, who is demanding his dismissal.

In his proposal, Sarafov wants the most severe disciplinary punishment for Krastev because of his “numerous disciplinary violations and the systematic failure to fulfill his official duties”. It was also established for Krastev that he accidentally passed by the scene of the accident with Georgi Semerdzhiev minutes after the accident.

The violations were found during a complex inspection carried out by prosecutors from the Supreme and Military Appeals Prosecutor’s Offices.

A few days ago, Borislav Sarafov requested the dismissal of the administrative head of the Sofia Military District Prosecutor’s Office, Adalbert Krastev. Sarafov motivated his proposal to the High Prosecutor’s Council with the results of a complex inspection carried out by a team of prosecutors for the period January 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023.

Sarafov wants the disciplinary dismissal of the prosecutor who passed by the scene of the accident with Semerdzhiev

The audit found violations of the principle of random selection in the allocation of cases, work not only on pre-trial proceedings, but also on files. Also distorting the data on the workload of prosecutors, including the data on the average workload of all district attorneys’ offices.
