A the talent reached the final of the Coppa Italia tournament after a 4-1 victory in the second leg of the semi-finals against Fiorentina.

In this way, the “Bergamas” overcame their opponent with a total result of the two games of 4:2 and in the final on May 15 at the “Olimpico” in Rome they will meet Juventus.

Atalanta tied the aggregate score of the two games 1:1 as early as the eighth minute with a goal by Thun Kopminers.

Shortly after, Gianluca Scamacca’s goal was disallowed for a foul.

Fiorentina had a hard time finding ways to oppose the hosts, and at the beginning of the second half, the “Violets” remained in a reduced squad after Nikola Milenkovic’s red card.

However, Fiorentina equalized in the 68th minute when Lucas Martinez Cuarta headed home to make it 1-1.

Skamaka, however, put Atalanta ahead again a quarter of an hour before the end, and in stoppage time, Ademola Lukman and Mario Pasalic scored another two goals for the hosts, with which they ensured their qualification for the final.

For the team from Bergamo, this will be the third Italian Cup final under head coach Gian Piero Gasperini.

In both previous cases – in 2019 and in 2021 – Atalanta lost, and in the second of them the Nerazzurri lost 1:2 to this year’s rival Juventus.
