Dr. Nedyalko Kalachev: Omerta against the diagnostic tests covered by the NHIF. Diagnosis – yuk! – Since the day

“We can’t say there are even queues for pertussis testing, but there are repeatedly increased interest in tests. This is normal given the situation at the moment.”

This is what Dr. Nedyalko Kalachev, owner of a large chain of laboratories, told BNR.

Mostly children are tested in the age range from 2-3 to 12 years, explained Dr. Kalchev.

There are no antibody tests available yet that check for immunity. The state must to provide additional doses of vaccines, which are currently not available in pharmacies, he pointed out. Referring to his personal inspection, Kalachev added that there are none in the large warehouses and large chains in the pharmacy network.

“At the moment, you cannot order a vaccine in the pharmacy network.”

Kalachev explained that he had read December a message from the British Health Service “which warned of such a thing” and emphasized that given the large diaspora of Bulgarians on the island, it was expected that the cases would increase in our country as well.

“Even people who do not have a typical clinic – for example contacts of a sick child can also be positive.”

Dr. Nedyalko Kalachev does not think that the price of the tests would rise speculatively now that more are being sought.

“Why this is not covered by the NHIF is a question that hangs over many other things. The reluctance of the Ministry of Health to expand the research packagewhich could be covered by the Health Fund, is extremely consistent and does not depend on political color. This is an omerta against diagnostic tests that – no matter what the government – stands firm. Diagnosis – yuk!“, commented Kalachev in the show “Before All”.
