According to the PP-DB, Zhelyazkov abuses power and authority, and works in the interest of the GERB-DPS political bloc.
Earlier, the resignation of the speaker of the parliament was also demanded from “Vazrazhdane” with a specific motive – the point for the vote of no confidence in the official government was not allowed with the argument that it does not correspond to the Constitution.
GERB and DPS did not take seriously the request for the resignation of the Speaker of the National Assembly in the last hours of his work. Boyko Borisov defined it as emotional outbursts, and Delyan Peevski as populism.
Parliament did not gather a quorum for the first time to start the session today.
There were 117 registered deputies, the GERB-SDS and DPS parliamentary groups were not present in the hall.
After the break, GERB entered the plenary hall. Only one of the people’s representatives from Borisov’s party registered. The meeting gathered a quorum. The people’s representatives will vote on 5 points, one of which is the release of Rosen Zhelyazkov as chairman of the National Assembly. Motion introduced by Kiril Petkov.
From the stand, Asen Vassilev suggested that point five should become first, Delyan Dobrev from GERB proposed a reverse procedure – point 1 for the miners should remain first. Vasilev’s proposal was supported. A discussion began about the release of Zhelyazkov.
The rules of the National Assembly provide that the proposal for the early release of the chairman is put to a vote at the first meeting after the day of his admission, giving the person the right to be heard.
