The historic European Championship for Bulgaria continues. Today in Belgrade, 11 of our national teams will enter the ring with the ambition to reach the finals in their categories. Having already secured 11 medals for our country, they will enter into new tough battles on the way to gold honors.
In the afternoon session, which starts at 16:00, we will see the representatives of our women’s national team, led by Borislav Georgiev and Roman Tsvetkov. In the evening from 7:00 p.m., the men led by Joel Arate, Valentin Poptolev and Alexander Alexandrov will enter the ring.
Sevda Asenova (48 kg) will open the program in ring A. The two-time European champion will face the home representative Kristina Varga. After her in ring B Zlatislava Chukanova (50 kg) will box with another Serbian woman – Nina Radovanovic. With the end of this match, the meeting of Venelina Poptoleva (52 kg) with the Olympic vice-champion Buse Çakroğlu (Turkey) begins. In the fifth match in ring A, our European silver medalist and third in the world Svetlana Kamenova (57 kg) will face the Romanian Claudia Nechita, and the women’s program will be closed by Asluhan Mehmedova (63 kg), who will box with Elena Babicheva (Russia) in the seventh meeting of the day.
Ergunal Sebakhtin (48 kg) will set the tone for the evening session. From 19:00 in ring B, the European vice-champion will play for the final with Edmond Khudoyan (Russia). 15 minutes after the end of this match Yasen Radev (54 kg) will meet another Russian – Dmitry Dvali. In ring A, after this meeting, European Games champion Javier Ibáñez (57 kg) should box with Samuel Kistoyuri (France), then multiple European champion Radoslav Rosenov (60 kg) will play Armenian Artur Sahakyan. The Bulgarian participation continues with the ninth match of the program, which pits Rami Keuan (75 kg) against Remo Salvati (Italy), and Jordan Morejon (+92 kg) will close the session with a match against Ayub Gadfa (Spain).
