As of today, every municipal councilor in SOS has a named reusable water bottle

As of today, each municipal councilor is provided with an individual, named reusable bottle. This was announced for BTA by the chairman of the Metropolitan Municipal Council (SOC) Tsvetomir Petrov.

Dispensers for drinking water have been placed in the building of the Metropolitan Municipality. This is a little late, but an important step for the protection of nature and the health of citizens, said Petrov. According to him, it is the Metropolitan Municipality, as the largest in the country, that should set the tone and define responsible policies aimed at protecting and caring for nature. Last but not least is the way in which citizens’ public resources are spent, noted Tsvetomir Petrov.

According to calculations, the innovation will save the use of 170 plastic bottles per month, which until now have only been used at the regular sessions of the SOS. This means that over 2000 bottles or 20 kg of plastic will be saved in a year.

Petrov urged the municipal councilors to use the reusable bottles during committee meetings as well, thus setting a good example for the citizens and contributing to a change in their habits and attitudes.
