“This act was not against the man Rosen Zhelyazkov, but against the chairman of the National Assembly Rosen Zhelyazkov, who systematically violated, more than once, the rules of this National Assembly. Unfortunately, only one reason – when he was carrying out the orders of Mr. Peevski and Mr. Borisov, who repeatedly shouted at him from the front row”.

This is how the co-chairman of “We continue the change” Kiril Petkov commented on the overthrow of the head of the parliament Rosen Zhelyazkov.

“What we want to say is purely political, a very clear message: Mr. Peevski and Mr. Borisov do not own this country and, if GERB wants to have a Euro-Atlantic direction, they repeat this word over and over again, they will have to get rid of their dependence on Peevski, and the rules and institutions that must work in the Bulgarian state must not be under the control of a single person,” said Petkov.

He was convinced that if Zhelyazkov had acted of his own free will, there would not have been the violations described in the PP-DB’s reasons for his ouster.

“It is very important to say that Bulgaria will be a legal and institutional state, no one will be above the law, and a clear message to GERB: if they continue to be subject to Mr. Peevski, the results will be like today,” he added. Petkov.
