This act was not against the man Rosen Zhelyazkov. It was against the Speaker of the National Assembly, Rosen Zhelyazkov, who systematically violated the rules of this National Assembly more than once and, unfortunately, for a single reason – when he was carrying out the orders of Mr. Peevski and Mr. Borisov, who repeatedly shouted at him from the front row .
This was stated on the sidelines of the parliament by the co-chairman of PP-DB Kiril Petkov after the removal of Rosen Zhelyazkov as chairman of the National Assembly.
“What we want to say, purely politically, is a very clear message. Mr. Peevski and Mr. Borisov do not own this country. If they want GERB to have a Euro-Atlantic direction, they will have to get rid of their dependence on Mr. Peevski, and the rules and institutions that must work in the Bulgarian state must not be under the control of a single person,” he said.
“I am sure that if Mr. Zhelyazkov had acted of his own free will, these violations, which we read today from the rostrum, would not have been carried out. Therefore, it is very important to say that Bulgaria will be a legal state, an institutional state, no one will be above the law,” he pointed out.
“A clear message to GERB – if they continue to be controlled by Mr. Peevski, the results will be like today’s,” added Petkov.
