The “Bozdugan-29” action was carried out in Hatay, Yalova, Konya, Yozgat, Canakkale, Sakaria and Tekirdag districts. The largest number of Daesh members were detained in Hatay – a total of ten people, Yerlikaya pointed out.

In the period from June 1, 2023 to April 22, 2024, a total of 1,422 actions against the Islamic State were carried out in Turkey, during which 2,991 suspects were detained. 718 of them have been placed under permanent arrest, the Minister of Internal Affairs added.

In 2013, Turkey was one of the first countries to include the Islamic State in its list of terrorist organizations.

Since then, the country has been repeatedly targeted by the group, with at least ten suicide attacks, seven bomb attacks and four armed attacks, killing at least 300 people and injuring hundreds more.
