Almost half of American adults from swing states support Donald Trump’s candidacy for the US presidency, while 43% support Joe Biden. This is according to the results of a survey conducted by Morning Consult on behalf of Bloomberg News.

According to data released Wednesday, Biden leads Trump by just two percentage points in Michigan.

In Arizona, 49% of those polled would vote for Trump “if the election were today,” 42% would vote for Biden. A similar situation is observed in Georgia: 49% of respondents would vote for the former president, 43% – for Biden.

48% of Wisconsin respondents support Trump, 44% support the current US president.

In Nevada and North Carolina, the margin is slightly larger: 8 and 10 percentage points in Trump’s favor, respectively.

In Pennsylvania, the difference is small: 47% of respondents say they support Trump, 46% say they support Biden.

34% of respondents noted that the economic factor plays an important role in choosing who they will vote for – 51% trust Trump more to solve economic problems, 36% – Biden.

The survey included 4,969 registered voters from Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. The survey was conducted online between April 8 and 15. The margin of error is approximately 1 percentage point.

Swing states are those in which, on the eve of the election, there is about the same level of popularity of the candidates of the two major parties. Election results in swing states tend to be the subject of increased attention because they often make a decisive contribution to the overall victory of one of the candidates.

Both Biden and Trump have already received the necessary number of votes to be nominated for the presidential election. Nominations will be made at the Democratic and Republican conventions in the summer.

The US presidential election is scheduled for November 5, 2024.
