Hari Tonchev and Daniele Febbo
The Bulgarian jazz guitarist Hari Tonchev he has been in Bulgaria for 2 weeks and is preparing for a stage appearance with his band, in which the double bass player Daniele Febbo and the drummer Borislav Petrov also participate.
The guitarist was born in Plovdiv, but since 2019 he lives in the suburbs of Chicago and performs in various American states. He pointed out to BNR-Radio Sofia that it still needs time to fill up the clubs in the States, as they were known before the covid pandemic. There, the audience is mostly students and musicians. In our country there are also lovers, admirers, non-musicians. And he added:
“Improvisation is a journey. We play freely, but we use improvisational techniques not only from jazz, but also from other styles. The goal is for the music to be conversational, to have a dialogue, a quick reaction.”
Daniele Febbo highlighted the particularly attractive and challenging way of playing music in the “Hari Tonchev Trio” and the emotionwhich is born.
At the Sofia concert on the evening of April 26, the audience will be able to hear original compositions and favorite standards, but interpreted through the specific playing of the formation.
