Acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev and Minister of Energy Vladimir Malinov met with the protesting miners and energy workers and discussed their demands.

“According to the familiar scenario, we are reacting to our bequeathed problems. We have already taken measures in the morning. We have signed a decree with a decision of the Council of Ministers for 200 million from the budget to enter the capital of Bulgarian Energy Holding and “Maritse”. In order to be in harmony with The National Assembly, we will add another 50 million,” said Glavchev.

Today, the parliament passed a decision that the state pays BGN 250 million each year to “Mini Maritsa East” for technical reclamation.

“At our insistence, it was agreed that this money will be spent only by Mini Maritsa East without being subcontracted, because this is one of the mechanisms for unreasonable spending. We hope that this will give an opportunity for stabilization. We will think in within the framework of the future energy strategy, to find a balanced solution to everything”, said Dimitar Manolov from CT “Podkrepa”.

“We are satisfied, but we are not happy. We need many solutions to understand what will happen to the Maritsa East mine and the Maritsa East 2 TPP. If we have to, we will go outside again to look for further solutions, I hope we don’t have to. We hope that there will be no redundancies as we observe in the complex. Solutions are needed very soon. We hope that the Energy Strategy will be found in order to have security,” said Ognyan Atanasov from KNSB.
