600 rockets against the hail failed to save Central Bulgaria – Around the world and in our country

Over 600 rockets were launched in 4 hours, from 1:19 p.m., from the sites of the Executive Agency “Fighting Hail”.

In the afternoon several cells developed, in a number of places in the regions of Plovdiv, Haskovo, Stara Zagora and Sliven, hailstones the size of a pea and a walnut fell. There is damage to the crop.

More than 20 hail risk cells were processed by the Regional directorates for hail in Taža, Stara Zagora, Popovitsa, Haskovo and Sliven.

One of the cells passing over a protected territory is a supercell, which is affected by 3 regional directorates – Popovitsa, Petrovo and Staro selo.

This type of process is characterized by the continuous renewal of cloud power, and it is impossible to completely prevent hail, but only to reduce its size, IABG reported.

And in the following hours, the processing continues in order to break the clouds and protect the crops.
