The first part was relatively equal and went without breakthroughs until the tenth game, when the Czech made one, realizing the second open set ball in front of him for 6:4.

In the second, Hanfman started more aggressively – he made and consolidated an early break for a 2-0 lead. However, Menshik then restored the tie at 2:2, and in the eighth and ninth games the two exchanged another break.

Then, at 6:5 in his favor, the world No. 74 missed three match points and thus the second set went into a tiebreak. In it, the Czech had no serious problems and managed to arrange a meeting with Grigor Dimitrov, winning him 7:3.
