The Czech Jakub Menšík will be the first opponent of Grigor Dimitrov during the tennis tournament of the ATP Masters 1000 series on clay in Madrid, after eliminating the representative of Germany Yannick Hanfmann in the first round.

Menczyk prevailed 6:4, 7:6(3) in just over two hours of play and thus registered his debut success at the competition in the Spanish capital.

Thus, the tennis player born in Prostejov arranged a match in the next phase against Grigor, who was placed under No. 9 in the main scheme, who started his participation directly from the second round.

Until now, Dimitrov has never faced Menshik, who is currently 18 years old and is ranked 74th in the world, and his peak achievement is 69th since he started in April this year.

In his fragile career, Yakub Menshik does not have a single title at the ATP level so far, but in February he reached his first final – in Qatar, where he lost to the Russian Karen Khachanov.

If Grigor Dimitrov manages to cope with the resistance of the Czech tennis player, then in the third round the Bulgarian will face the French Adrian Mannarino or the Canadian Felix Ogier-Aliassim.
