G2 Esports suffered a shocking loss in their second match in Group B of ESL Pro League 19. Viktor “taz” Voytas’ CS2 team was thoroughly outplayed by The MongolZ 2-0.
The Asians demonstrated an impressively stable and efficient game and allowed the opponent to take only 4 rounds on their map – Ancient. Samurai star Ilya “m0nesy” Osipov topped everyone in kills, with the sniper finishing with a total of 18 kills, but no one from G2 even came close to the Russian’s numbers.
Things didn’t improve much when the match turned to Anubis. The Mongolians started with a 4:1 round run, and by halftime G2 had only won 3 rounds, forcing them to play their T-side perfectly. An excellent half for The MongolZ recorded “910” with as many as 18 frags. Already in the pistol round for the second part of the map, however, G2 suffered a loss, and then the Asian team closed its spectacular success and secured a place in the playoffs of the competition in Malta, with a prize fund of 750 thousand dollars.
